Nexgard, an oral flea and tick treatment, manufactured by Merial that is now acquired by Boehringer Ingelheim, doesn’t need any introduction. The flea and tick treatment has already established itself in the market because of its effectiveness and safety. Vets around the world are recommending this treatment, and dog parents around the world are using it, and are happily satisfied.
However, if you are a new dog owner or looking to switch to another treatment and Nexgard is on your list, but are having certain apprehensions before going ahead, then read the below information to get your confusions cleared.
What Is Nexgard?
Nexgard is a beef-flavoured monthly flea and tick treatment that not only treats fleas before they can lay eggs, but also terminates several types of dangerous ticks that can cause several fatal tick-borne diseases.
The treatment starts working within 8 hours and kills almost 100% adult fleas within 24 hours of administration. And, as far as ticks are concerned the treatment eliminates ticks like Black-legged tick (Ixodes scapularis), American Dog tick (Dermacentor variabilis), Lone Star tick (Amblyomma americanum), and Brown dog tick (Rhipicephalus sanguineus) within 48 hours of administration.
It is a palatable beef-flavoured chew that can be easily administered by giving the treatment directly into the mouth of your pup. Thus, as a dog parent, you are relieved from the mess or hassles of administering the topical treatments.
The treatment is also very efficacious in preventing flea allergy dermatitis.
