Question from Douglas Walker
My one Ginger cat losses excessive hair all over the place. The other 2 don’t - what could be the reason and can I control it.
Our Vet Says:
Hi Douglas,
There are a few options that could be causing the hair loss: 1)Stress may be a factor in multicat households. Ensure each cat has there own food and water bowl. The rule of thumb for litter boxes is the number of cats plus 1, so in your case 4 litter boxes.
2)Food, some cats have food allergies and this can result in hair loss.
3)Skin infections may also result in hair loss.
There are a few other options as well. The best first step would be to get your cat checked over by your veterinarian to manage and correctly diagnose the hair loss problem.
