Question from Chantelle
I want to give dental chews to my dog but he has a weak digestive system. So, can I give them to him?
Our Vet Says:
Hi Chantelle,
If your dog has a weak digestive system due to different food proteins, it is important to choose the dental treats which don’t have this protein in them.  Some dogs can’t tolerate chicken for example, so avoiding dental chews containing chicken is best.  Luckily, there a dental chews which are only vegetable based and free from preservatives, these are probably the best ones to give your dog.  They are easily digestable and taste great too!
Another good way to keep your dogs teeth healthy is to regularly brush them with Pet Dent toothpaste and even use an oral rinse (Orovet oral rinse) to help reduce tartar build up.
