Designed for canines of all breeds and sizes, NexGard Spectra for Dogs is a broad-spectrum parasitic treatment, available in the form of highly palatable chews. It is designed for monthly administration and suitable for dogs and puppies from 8 weeks of age, weighing at least 2.3 kg, including breeding, pregnant, and lactating queens.
The treatment is indicated to kill adult fleas and treat and prevent flea infestations. It further treats and controls tick infestations caused by paralysis ticks, brown dog ticks, and bush ticks. Additionally, the treatment treats and controls mange and mites. It prevents heartworm disease caused by Dirofilariaimmitis. The product also treats and controls intestinal worms like roundworms, hookworms, and whipworms. NexGard Spectra further controls flea allergy dermatitis (FAD) and prevents flea tapeworm infestations.
Both NexGard and NexGard Spectra for Dogs contain the active ingredient afoxolaner, providing protection against fleas, ticks, mites and lice. However, NexGard Spectra contains an additional active ingredient, milbemycin oxime, which provides protection against heartworm and intestinal worms.
NexGard Spectra kills ticks by over-stimulating their nervous system, which results in the death of the parasite.
NexGard Spectra overstimulates the flea’s nervous system, resulting in hyper-excitation. That’s why you may see fleas rise to the top of your dog’s coat and appear more visible as they die.
NexGard Spectra is highly effective at killing tick species like brown dog ticks, bush ticks and paralysis ticks.
NexGard Spectra kills fleas already present on your dog within 8 hours of initial administration.
